Deezer launches new Trailblazers Podcast – the definitive stories of Electronic Music Pioneers

April 25th, 2018: Deezer, the world’s most personal global music streaming company, is launching its brand new originals podcast TRAILBLAZERS. The ‘Deezer Originals’ series honours famous artists, DJs and creators who inspired and established a unique genre of music, by transforming electronic music from underground subculture to a multi-million pound industry.

Presented by Eddy Temple-Morris and Nick Halkes, the new Deezer Originals reveals the legendary stories of visionaries who shaped electronic music around the world.

Trailblazers presenter Nick Halkes founded ground breaking record labels XL Recordings and Positiva. He has played an important role in the development of electronic music culture for close to thirty years.

Trailblazers presenter Nick Halkes founded the ground breaking record labels XL Recordings and Positiva before becoming a successful artist manager for The Prodigy, DJ Fresh and Stanton Warriors. He has played an important role in the development of electronic music culture for close to thirty years.

Eddy Temple-Morris gave the first ever airplay to acts including Kasabian, Simian Mobile Disco and Justice. As well as presenting daily on Virgin Radio he’s co-curator of the Secret Garden Party festival and is a regular DJ at major music festivals, previously performing at Creamfields Ibiza and High Definition Festival many more.

Guests range from the legendary musician Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim, to iconic radio DJ and music mogul, Tony Prince and BBC Radio 6 presenter Mary Anne Hobbs. Each guest tells their unique story, charting  the momentous events that shook and shaped electronic music, including:

My work launching and building the XL and Positiva labels plus everything I do today is influenced by the pioneers who went before me and who continue to do great work.
